Redcliffe dog friendly areas
The local Council prohibits dogs from conservation parks, reserves and foreshores unless designated as a dog exercise area.
All is not lost, however, as there's still quite a few spots at Redcliffe where we can take our furry friends!
Designated off-leash areas
Kroll Gardens, approximately 5 acres of off-leash park on the corner of Snook Street and Duffield Road.
It's fully fenced and has lots of trees and a walking track through the middle of it. There are also shady benches on which you can rest and toilet facilities.
Your dog will have heaps of space to socialise with others or you can just find a quiet spot by yourself to spend quality time with your pooch. There is even a well-equiped obstacle course for those super-energetic hounds!
Queens Beach - Dogs are able to be exercised off leash 24 hours a day along the Flinders Parade beachfront between Donkin Street and Flinders Lane.
Designated on-leash beach areas (check for signage)
- Any beach between the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge/Houghton Highway at Clontarf and the Woody Point Jetty, Woody Point
- The beach between Drury Point and Queens Beach North, Scarborough
- On any beach between Jamieson Park and Endeavour Park, Scarborough
My favourite beach spot is Clontarf Beach, along Hornibrook Esplanade. This is where I take my own dog, Jess. Facilties for us humans include toilets and picnic tables.
